Fabric off cuts

Post: # 223889Post pelmetman »

I have a large quantity of fabric off cuts ideal for crafting, along with plenty of wadding and foam scraps for stuffing toys, draught excluders etc.

All free to a good home

I am in Lincolnshire, but do a regular delivery run down to Essex.

Please pm me if your interested.

Gosh, wish I could have 'em, but I live in Co. Mayo, Southern Ireland. A bit too far to travel in your lunch-break

At the risk of being screamed at - have you PM Mrs Flibble? She's a very clever lady with fabrics and I'm sure she could do wonders with them. Sorry Mrs F - but I couldn't think of a more worthy place for them. :hugish:

I was going to post exactly that - but the site went AWOL.

Yep, the Flib could do wonders with that stuff.

Since posting this thread the last lot of fabric has found a home.

However, we are always building up extra off cuts and are more than happy to pass it on rather than sending it to landfill.

The only thing is we are talking bin bags full and they would be very expensive to post but if there is someone on or near our delivery route we are more than happy to deliver or meet them somewhere. Our normal route is Lincolnshire, Cambridge, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk.

Scrapstores would be glad of those. I get my fabric from Hull Scrapstore, if you googlie it you should find details of all the stores.

Hi Skinnimini

Thanks for posting we will look into that outlet.

Funnily enough for years now we have been offering our off cuts of fabric for free yet the uptake has been far and few between. Although they are only bits and pieces, lots of our fabrics retail at £100 meter plus!!

We have willingly given it to local schools yet the response has been more or less oh no what are we going to do with that! Charity shops don't seem that interested. The only enthusiastic response we have really got is when we lived in Essex when the local operatic group wanted it.

Yet if we do a car boot sale folks will willingly pay for it. It never fails to surprise me that if you offer something for free - pretty much no response - yet sell it and people will buy :dontknow:

Next time you have some to get rid of, let me know as I travel up and down to London on a regular basis (my daughter lives there) and could take some off your hands.
