Lost crafts by Una McGovern

Post: # 224295Post scrap »

The title and brief description of it's contents got me curious enough to order it.
And I'm not disappointed.
How do I build a drywall,skin a rabbit or make a lobsterpot?
Is all in there, and a lot more.
But it's not so much of a ''how to...'' book.
There are plenty of detailed projects to get you going with the basics of,say, soap making or hedgelaying.
The book also gives you a bit of insight in the lives of those craftsmen of days gone by.

Inspirational,and a fun read.
Never knew what a rushlight was...

I have John Seymours book, found at a table top sale at the girls school. It cost me £2, and is regularly pawed over by the Eldest wanting to know if we can do some of the things in it!

It's a fantastic resource, even if it just wets the appetite to get out there and do something.
