Question about Elsinore recipe on site

Post: # 163021Post starchild »

I've been looking at the Elsinore recipe on the ish site which sounds intriguing!

http://www.selfsufficientish.com/elsinorebread.htm

I'm wondering what type of flour to use - I don't know who shared the recipe, so not sure who to ask for help.

I have passed this query on to Andy as he will be the one who posted it (or his twin brother Dave!) so hopefully he will get back to you shortly. :flower:

Wow, that's an old page it was about 5 years ago I made that bread. I seem to recall that I used strong white bread flour to make it.... It was delicious as well must make some more.

Thank you! I'm going to make it this week, so I'll let you know how I get on!

I've not yet managed to make successful bread, apart from a loaf last week of wholewheat spelt bread, so I'm feeling on a roll

It's in the oven now and it smells DELICIOUS!!

The dough was very sticky, so I hope it cooks through - fingers crossed. If it's a masterpiece I shall post up a picture later.

well I have to say, I've now made this 4 times and it's a huge thumbs up from us!

DH said that if I made this bread all the time he would never buy another shop-bought loaf again!

By Jove, I've finally bloomin' well done it!

Thanks for the recipe, Andy!

I tried to upload images, but it said "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.", so I don't know what all that was about ...

It is a lovely recipe that one!

Images - Are they not of this world? Perhaps only existing in a higher dimension, don't you just hate it when that happens.
