You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Great idea for tomatoes! I was planning on trying to make some stock powder by dehydrating carrots/onions/other mixed veg/herbs, as per this recipe http://talesofakitchen.com/raw/homemade ... raw-vegan/ I'll report back if it works!

Although I'm sure dehydrators which blow air over the food work best, I do manage to dry purees into fruit leathers on my Andrew James one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Andrew-James-De ... dehydrator which blows air from the bottom. So I'm hoping the powder will work ok.

I'm going to have a go too, I am running out of shelf space to store the dozens of tomatoes I've processed. I must resist panting too many next year.

I only have the round one but will see what happens. It will have to wait till the watermelon is done...now that is a revelation!
