Fried apple

Does anyone else fry apple slices for breakfast ?
I was brought up eating fried apple with the breakfast fry-up, especially with sausages. But when I mentioned it to some relatives they thought I was having them on.
Is fried apple maybe restricted to fruit growing districts where apples where used to fill you up with free(ish) food ?
Or maybe it's my relatives that are weird and missing out on this vitamin C morning boost.

Apple, pear and plum were used in everything from fry-ups to salads. Virtually everyone had a house orchard. I still put fruit into my green salads and anything else I can get away with. the harder pears - Bosc, Corella and Nashi are plentyful and cheap here at the moment but unfortunately the old apples have been replaced by the new super sweet varieties. Too hot for me to grow these myself.

Thanks Flo, but all those recipes are more like puddings. I'm talking about slices of apple, eating or cookers, fried in bacon fat or dripping and eaten as part of a full English breakfast.

I have never heard of that, but apple sauce with pork is well known, I guess if you have bacon and sausage, it is quite logical really
