Smoothies

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Smoothies

The kids decided they wanted a smoothie and have come up with a few combinations :- Raspberry, strawberry, banana and peach (Daughter) and banana, melon and ginger (Son) - both with added honey. Its a fab way of making sure they have at least one fruit portion a day and some milk, and its simple enough for them to make themselves! All that said - does any one have any other combinations we could try?

My favourite fruit smoothie is nectarine/cherry, with a splash of orange juice, no honey needed. I don't usually add milk to this one, but a little plain yogurt and a very fresh egg instead. You can leave the the yogurt and egg out of this one, but if I'm having it for breakfast, I usually add them. I use frozen cherries, and it makes a really nice consistency for the drink.

Cheers
