OK, sorry, I've been a smart arse. The top link refers to a free article (called Down and dirty with banana slugs: UCSC researcher studies sex-crazed creature’s bizarre mating habits) from which I copied and pasted an extract.
The bottom link is to a page of the British Library refering to an article entitled "UNDERSTANDING THE HORMONAL PHYSIOLOGY OF REPRODUCTION IN SLUGS AS A BASIS FOR POTENTIAL NOVEL CONTROL METHODS", which the British Library mistakenly thinks I will happily part of a fiver to read.

Stew, what dangerous site is that link for? I'm prohibited to look at it because of gambling contents! (Yes, yes, I know it's time I should get my own computer up and running... But at least the office is warm.)

I can't really think why your computer has blocked it, Ina. It's a link to a cartoon. Nor can I think why your reply has tripped the spam filter - I thought that only happened when words like c a s i n o and o n l i n e b e t t i n g were used.

I shall rather naughtily hotlink to it and see if that works for you

Gosh, I'm getting into deep water here!

Anyway, that doesn't work - whatever it is - either. Nevermind...

102. ????? either we have some sabortage on the list or another dyslexic

I wondered if using mypex with sand superglued on the other side would work as a no dig and no slug method?

Put egg shells around your plants - we had that one yet?

leave a bucket in a damp grassy area for a couple of days to collect slugs underneath and then flick them to the chooks (because you get funny looks from them if the slugs aren't on the ground)

You get that too? My chooks ignore slugs that are on boards or anything like that... I'm left jumping up an down as the slugs slowly ooze their way back under the board, shouting "Look! Look there! IT'S GETTING AWAY YOU DOZY BIRDS!"

Sorry matey, mean slug velocity is around 8m per night so he'll be back before long!

Check this out. It's gross.

Getting rid of ginger beer when you make so much over christmas that everyone is SICK of it! It keeps for ages so just leave it till the slugs return.
The slugs treat it just like normal beer and die a happy and glorious death
