Patchwork
Make a nifty little waistcoat for a doll or teddy bear.
Make into bunting
Use as plant or tree ties.
Shove something stiff inside them (oi, I meant a piece of card or a stick not what you were thinking of) and use to dust under the hi-fi or the tv.
Cat toy
Dog lead
Cut up brightly coloured ones to decorate the Christmas tree.
Make into lavendar bags
Wrap around the handles of a door if you want to stop it slamming shut and trapping little fingers.
Hmm, the more I think about it, the more I need a man (but only one who has loads of old ties to get rid of).

Skip the man & go straight to the tie rack in your local charity shop. Ties sell for about 50p each 'round here!

Re: 101 uses for mens silk ties
my friend made me a lovely bag out of old ties. They were all paisley style silk ties she had bought for very little from the charity shop. she used crazy patchwork style, and then added nice stitching over the seams. it really is a lovely thing

There was a waistcoat made out of old ties stitched together in My Burda mag a couple of months ago. Not my taste but my eldest loved it.

Use them to tie round a lamb's feet to help pull them out during a difficult birth.

Eithne Farry, in her book 'Yeah, I made it myself' suggests using them as bag handles or straps for tops, or cutti ng up the fabric to make into fabric beads.
But I'd love to see a picture of the hippy skirt made out of ties - inspired!

Very pretty
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

I seem to remember on last year's Apprentice, they had a dress made out of them. They style was lovely.
I love the evening bag, very stylish.

They make wonderful child chastisers. You know - the flick of the forearm and wrist, a sharp crack and a very subdued child (after the initial screaming, of course). They work (I'm told) in a similar manner on women. I wouldn't know.
