microwaves

101 Uses For is popular and let's hope it stays that way. Our second book is presently called 101 tips for self sufficiency; we will certainly dip into this section for ideas. So post away and let's try and get at least one thread up to 101.

 - looks like a good bit of recycling.

While we're talking microwaves, does anyone have any feelings/knowledge about the health aspects of micro'd food? - I believe there are some people who think there could be adverse heath issues....
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.

I suspect it's the microwave meals rather then the microwave itself.

I've been eating microwaved food for over half my life and there's nothing wrong with me.

Can I hijack this thread to ask if anyone knows why I've suddenly grown a second head?

Seriously though, I think there is good evidence to be wary of using some plastics in the microwave as the heat can cause toxic substances to migrate into the food. Personally I use any old ice cream tub but don't do as I do, do as I say, and only use containers that are suitable for heating food in.

Mine's in the loft at the moment as I never used it and it was taking up valuable space in the kitchen
