101 uses for wine boxes

101 Uses For is popular and let's hope it stays that way. Our second book is presently called 101 tips for self sufficiency; we will certainly dip into this section for ideas. So post away and let's try and get at least one thread up to 101.

101 uses for wine boxes

Post: # 64717Post possum »

We buy the wine boxes here as they are a lot cheaper and I assume use less in the manufacture than wine bottles.

But what can we reuse them for?
The boxes currently get recycled at the tip, though I will shortly be putting them at the bas of a new raised border to aid water retention.

As for the bags? Sure there has to be some use for them?

Solar shower (not sure on that one, it would have to be black)
Pillow
toy for the swimming pool
Refil with another liquid
Or possibly stick together for a thermal blanket
or a space hat.

Well you buy little taps a bit like that for syphoning wine off - maybe worth a go

I suppose stating the obvious you could just use them to keep your home made wine in

It's a bit of a faff, but cut open the bags so they are flat and (I'm assuming you drink a LOT of wine, here - cos I do) you can sandwich old material, newspapers etc between sheets of the plastic to make insulating material.
How do you live your life when there's nobody watching?
