Series comming out on BBC4 on 17th October about the restoration of neglected woodlands. We're biased because we were involved in the programme in a small way, but having met some of the other people involved, it looks really promising.

With no TV and a dongle for our internet, we're not going to see it until tomorrow, so we'll have to see if it's as good as it sounds then.

We watched it this morning. Really enjoyed it. For anyone who missed it, it's repeated this evening and on Sunday.

Missed part 1 but saw part 2 last night, thought it was great. I hope it inspires and helps people realise that woods benefit from being managed.

Being honest week one was ok but a bit nondescript, I felt. I suppose it was laying the ground work but week 2 was full, really getting on with it.

I'm really enjoying the series. I used to go coppicing in a local wood when i was younger. This brings back so many memories of cold days chopping down trees and having stew for lunch!

I like the fact that he's explaining why these things are done too. At the time, we understood that coppicing is part of managing the woodland, and part of keeping it healthy, but not much else.

We've just seen that there's a clip of us on Iplayer, but our mobile internet connection is not good enough to watch is so we still don't know if we come across as complete fools

hi pete and anna, no you certainly didn't! is it always like waiting for an overdue baby??!! yes the presenter did overdue hyping up the excitement for the viewers but it was informative. do you take your burner setup around the country to places that have wood piles or do you coppice your own?

We've never found it to be quite like waiting for an overdue baby!

We have a small kiln that we use to do demos, but our full size kiln stays in the woods where we live and work.

the baby quote was from something rob said on the prog which wouldn't make sense unless you had seen the program i guess.
