Somerset Green Drinks !
Hi all,
Hope you're well.
Just a shortie to let you know it's Somerset Green Drinks tomorrow Thursday 21st June.
"What's Green Drinks then", I hear you cry
Here's my stuff from their website http://www.greendrinks.org
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Somerset Green Drinks is a monthly social event organised by local writer on downshifting and sustainable living, Tracey Smith.
It's for anyone in the area interested in green issues and caring for their local and global environment.
It's a great way to catch up with friends, thrash out new ideas, or just chill out with people who share your values.
It takes place on the 3rd Thursday of every month and starts at 7.30pm.
The next one is Thursday 21st June!
19th July
16th August
20th September
18th October
15th November
20th December
Stick all the dates in your diary and bring-along-a-green-friend!
The Gallery,
6A Holyrood Street,
Chard,
Somerset
Tel: 01460-61010
Venue contact: David Barnes
If you are familiar with Chard High Street, Holyrood Street is located down the hill on the right, where High Street blends into Fore Street. The Gallery is about 20 yards down on the right hand side.
There should be good parking availability in either Holyrood, Fore or High Street.
Incidentally, 'The Gallery' is located in the bar and restaurant at the back of 'Hooked on Books' and boasts regular exhibitions by various artists.
The venue is stimulating, non-smoking and has been exclusively reserved for our Green Drinks!
I look forward to meeting you there soon.

Feel free to drop me a line if you need anything further, or just to let me know you'll be coming along!

Hi chick!
Not sure how new it is to be honest - it's been here since I've been lurking about on the streets of Chard
It's actually a posh restaurant within an art gallery which has a piano in the corner for special do's!
It's a bit steep on the prices, but to be honest, I drink good ole tap water all nite - lolol - ... Dear old Chard is a bit thin on the ground for nice places to just meet up and do GD, but it's a nice relaxed place to have it so I reckon we'll stick with it.
Would be lovely to see yer mum!
How France mate? Long time no natter!

Hiya! Actually Mum wouldn't really go because she doesn't drive, and even if she did she'd bore the pants off you telling you all about my chooks and ducks and wonderful garden etc etc! She's just had a holiday here with us - first time she's seen our house.
I will check with her about which restaurant was the one where 4 of them ran up a bill of £280!!!!! I know it had music!
Have you got some people interested in the area who'll come along to your drinks? I know a few people in Winsham through my Mum but can't think of anyone who is particularly into green issues - of course there are the old boys who grow their giant veg for the horticultural society show but I bet they use loadsa chemicals! I also know there is some discontent in the village about the now fortnightly refuse collection too.
Life in France plods on slowly but it suits us just fine! You enjoying yourself in Dorset? It's lovely countryside round there and I do enjoy visiting when we get the chance.
Take care xx

life here
Hi MMM, yes, some are kicking up here about the collection too... ....they just can't please em all!
Life here is good (simple, slow and good) and I'm enjoying writing all about sustainable living in the south west. I do stuff for the local papers and on the local BBC which is a giggle. I also do a broadcast on Apple AM every Wednesday which I love (listen tomorrow on http://www.AppleAM.com
I do miss bits of my French life, but have managed to drag most of my favourite bits back with me....if only I could still enjoy the wonderfully inexpensive local wines, that would just be the icing on the cake!

I'd love to go to our green drinks meetings - I get the emails but they are in Aberdeen and that's over an hours drive and a 80+ mile round trip which doesn't seem very green really does it
Tempted to set one up within our Neeps group....

Neepie Green Drinks`
Hi chick,
SET ONE UP MATE!
You'll love it! There's nothing much to do apart from kick the whole thing off - its growth is 'organic' if you pardon the pun and the month soon comes around.
It's nice to give the people that come a spotlight for their project, have a table for leaflets etc and maybe give interested parties a 5 minute on the soap box slot if you fancy it.
It will be a good flag waver for the Neeps too...
