Petition to save Hatfield forest

Post: # 63274Post the.fee.fairy »

Hatfield Forest is very very close to my heart. I've lived near it for about 22 years, and it has been part of my growing up.

Now, BAA and the Government plan to kill it by stealth - expanding the runways, and the road systems.

I've put up with a lot from the village i live in in recent years, the constant building, the buying of swathes of green land for yet more dvelopments, the 'resurfacing' of the disused railway line to create easier access to people who drive to it to walk their dogs - so killing a few species of orchid and creating havoc for the rabbits and badgers.

However - KILLING THE FOREST IS NOT ON! This is the point at which i am prepared to stand up and fight! Even if it means getting physical.

So...i am asking you, oh wonderful Ish people, please help National Trust to oppose the plans by signing the online petition.

Ta very muchly xx

Nah just use handcuffs and affix them to yourself and another (prefeable willing) person through a piece of drain pipe. then create a human chain like this and sit down on the road/ in a circle around trees... etc

Its what the guys at faslane do

disclaimer - this is a joke... do what you like, sometimes diplomacy can work better :cooldude:

Well, i'm hoping that because it is actually organised by the national Trust (who own the forest) rather than a random person, then it will have more of a hit with BAA/the Government.

National Trust will have better legal teams and a more nationwide reach than any other organisation trying to stop the espansion (stop Stansted for example) because they've got properties and members around the country.
