I think politics may be the only field in which dangerous incompetence is not a criminal offence (in the western world, at least). I can think of a number of British politicians who would be candidates for a test trial.

I agree, although I would say that since a child costs £28.44 a day or £218,000 in total to raise, it might well be a good idea for people thnking about having some to attend basic math class (with the bankers etc) before they commit to such an undertaking. Just a thought.
