Here, if you are a junkie you go register at the clinic thing and they put you on prescription for methadone. You then go every day to the clinic, they test your pee to check you've not taken any heroin and if its clean they give you the methadone, then you go home again. If you go to the pharmacy you can buy tromadol 'under the counter' to take along with your methadone for a better hit. We've got some junkie friends here. We we try not to socialise with them anymore because things were going missing from our house when they were here. One guy stole 300 euros from our bedroom and the spare set of keys for the appartmet which we never realised at the time. Then when we left to go back to Scotland the appartment was broken into, nothing was messed up, they went straight to my jewlery from the wedding and took it. That was all that was taken, they knew exactly where it was. Even if they are your friends they can't be trusted. As my husband rightly says "heroin is a curse and it curses everyone arround it".

I have seen footage on the news here from orphanages which literally have the kids tied by their wrists and ankles to the bars of their cots, most of them too big to fit in the cots. That was a truly horrific site to see.

Its because there are spammers who sell dodgy drugs over the internet. So the word filter is set to pick up certain drug names commonly used by the spammers to alert us to the post.

It's not stopping freedom of speech, just letting people know that the poster may be a spammer (not that we think you are, it's usually the one-post people who get caught).

I have a relative who had a heroin habit. He is very clever, well spoken, not the kind of person you would think would turn to heroin. He now has Hep C and suffers health problems. He kicked the heroin because HE wanted to do it, you cannot force people with addiction problems to kick them. Often people who have been cleaned in this way falter and start using again. He is a drugs counsellor now in the prison system. People who overeat, use drugs or alcohol and other addictions do have my sympathy, any one of us could fall into a spiral of addiction. Some people cannot control their particular OCD's and paranoia's which also affects family and friends of the sufferer, should we also treat these people with contempt and cage them up until they get over it?? Reconnecting to the earth may help, Green Care Farms and Horticultural Therapy help a lot of people with mental heath problems, bit of understanding, human kindness and empathy for these unfortunates would be more called for.

Diggernotdreamer, Its the same here with the people we know. They we all in university with my husband staying in the student dormetories in Skopje, the capital, thats where they got introduced to it. Quite strange, in Brittain we have a totally different attitude towards heroin, in that its viewed as somthing lower class people with unstable families who are envolved in gangs do, not students at university.

Every one of my husbands friends who take heroin have messed their lives up, can't hold down a job and live off their parents. Some of them were married with kids and their wifes left them because of it. My husband in 32 and his friends are around the same age, still living off their parents to feed their drug habbit. And if you met them you's think they were nice normal people, they don't look like homless junkies or anything, just normal. But they are f*cking up their lives with heroin and as long as they keep taking it they cannot be trusted. Iv got 2 small kids, i can't have people comming round and taking heroin in my bathroom when the kids are in the house, no way! My husband and i have taken it with them ages ago before we had kids when we were hanging out with them. But after we took it a couple of times they kept comming to the house wanting to take it together again and for us to pay for it for them. Then things started going missing from the house. My husband was really hurt because they've been friends for years and he said if he really needed money he should of just asked for it and he would of gave it to him.

But that is that, we've only taken it ocationally after my daughter was born and not at all since i was pregnant with my son. And we try not to speak to those people any more. Its best to stay well clear.
