Brits banned from overseas hotels...

Post: # 289517Post fruitfly »

... due to false food poisoning claims costing the hotels too much - is it true or did I imagine hearing about it?

I read it in several papers, all inclusive resorts seem to be targeted by bogus food poisoning claims so they are considering a ban on British people

Yes I read that too. Apparently the Spanish laws are so lax you only have to prove that you bought stomach upset tablets to show that you were suffering from food poisoning.

...and a good opportunity for MSM to whip up more anti-EU xenophobia.

Well, it is true that the Brits have a much stronger blame and claim culture (inherited from the USA, of course) than the rest of the world seems to have. Never understood that.

For my part, I would advise any foreigner not to come for a holiday in Britain - not until they've sorted out their bloody hate of anything not white and British for the last three centuries... :(

It seems unfair to, what I would imagine, is the majority of British holiday maker. A good idea would be to only allow those with insurance to book with them, that might put off the ne'er-do-wells and provide a bit of security (you never know what can befall you) for those who pay for the insurance even though they might have preferred not to.

Its just the way of the modern world.

The current Generation seems to have a simple approach to life; if your life isn't perfect or is inconvenienced in any way then someone else is to blame and you need to sue them. Under our current National laws here, if someone comes onto my farm without permission, trips over on something - (they don't actually have to hurt themselves, a "near miss" is bad enough) I am legally at fault for not anticipating the event and removing the trip hazard. Imagine what would happen if the trespasser got nailed by an irate cow with a new calf! Is Australia the only country where a person is made legally liable for the actions or inactions of another but has no authority to control those actions?

The English speaking parts of the modern world, at least. They seem to have a more pragmatic approach to real life in the rest of the world...
