Great article on downshifting in the latest Ecologist, including an interview with Tracey Smith and Nat. And guess what: under "resources", selfsufficientish is listed... :mrgreen:

Yeah, I saw that too.

It's a really good magazine, The Ecologist, although it does make me feel a bit depressed sometimes - The scale of the environmental problems we face coupled with the greed of big business and the wilful ignorance of most of the population.

I caught up with the tampons article you mentioned before - yeuck! If I used them I would stop now (Sorry - may be TMI for you boys).

i had a quick look at the ecologist online today - is the tampon article on there? or is it in the paper copy. i really want to find a copy as i found out a friend uses them, but its not a magazine i usually read

I think it's the paper copy - I can read it online but I subscribe.

Take a look at http://www.wen.org.uk/sanpro/index.htm for freely available info on tampons and all manner of other things. I've linked to the index page as they are currently looking for donations to enable them to carry out their work on this enviromenstrual campaign, but by clicking on 'resources' on that page it will take you through to some of the info.
