Hi
I only know how to do it in windows programs, but it is quite straightforward.

Highlight the bit of text or whatever that you want to copy. If it's a picture, you can usually get away with just clicking on it. Then either click the right mouse button and select copy or press ctrl and C together.

Then go to wherever you want to paste it and either right click and select paste or press ctrl and V at the same time.

Some programes don't let you copy (adobe reader) and some internet sites are a bit of a pain in this respect as well. Trying to copy a link can be a nuisance as it'll jump through the link when you click on it to highlight it. I find it easiest to copy the spaces before and after as well. It doesn't usually affect the pasted link.

I hope this helps
Zoe

Quite often if you just right-click on the link you get the little menu up so you can select 'copy link location'. The only problem with that is that it does copy and paste the address of the link location, not the nice neat blue word that is linked up IYSWIM
