Can anyone tell what "spam" does and what is the point of it i have probably asked this befor but i've forgot, sorry senior moment, the only spam i know is Specially Prepared American Meat.

It's usually some kind of dodgy advert for stuff we don't want!

And they seem to expect there are people out there who are going to click on their links and then buy their dodgy products. Well none of us will that's for sure!

Yeah spam is really anything internet related that is unwanted, emails, adverts, strange new forum members LOL

I'm always to scared to click on any thing until someone tells me its ok

... apart from the rather hopeful advertising, a lot of spammers also want to sell advertising space on their sites - and they can only do that if they can prove that they get a large number of hits. So, they put a hit counter on the site and then spam every other site they can think of. Innocent people go to have a look and BINGO - hit counter goes up by one.

Apparently, it doesn't really work, but try telling that to the spammers.

So do spammers get spammed then? Seems to me that they could all spam each other's websites and/or sell advertising space to each other, could live in their own little spammy world and then not bother the rest of us!!!
