I have always thought this purple flower was lavendar  but I know it is very unlikely, considering how inexperienced I am when identifying plants.

All of you guys seem full of knowledge, what is this flower? by the way I really appreciate the replies.

Bluebell? :dontknow: but it's going over and mine are in full flower now - and the pic is not very clear/close up.

What country are you in - for all we know you could be posting piccies of Australian autumnal flowers!

Thanks. Might be grape hyacinths, going over.

Did they look like this when in full bloom?

Better pic here, showing some of the flowers going over. Pretty sure that's what you have photographed.

I live in the UK (London) Millymollymandy. This photo is a perfect representation of the flower in my garden, thank you. It looks like this, it is only April so maybe the flowers might open up a bit further into the summer. Anyway,I checked the flower in the database & it is not edible. Damn it lol, im trying to look for flowers/leaves in my gardens that are edible. So far, daisy, dandelions & possibly lemon balm is growing in my garden.

They are bulbs and the flowers are going over, i.e. they've already flowered, so they will set seed then the leaves will go brown and disappear and lie dormant again until next spring. Just like daffodils!

It's cherry laurel, aka laurel hedge (unless it is growing as a tree!). The flowers smell lovely. If you prune it do it with secateurs and not hedge trimmers because they just cut those large lovely leaves to shreds and then it looks messy. But of course it may not be a hedge where you are!

Fire away with your ID questions, we all enjoy trying to do them.
