The college shop has reduced price marbling inks, have bought some and off to play, any tips if any one has used them before would be welcome.

Hi Sarah
its really great fun mainly because I haven't got the hang of it yet and am never sure how its going to turn out, element of surprise!!
Did think about laminating bits and making book marks etc. my colleague suggested wrapping paper! the possibilities... any how hols start tomorrow so will trying out all sorts, there's also a bit somewhere about marbling fabric now that would be an achievement, pics to follow(hopefully)

remeber to use borax in the water, it helps the inks to float properly.

I'm not sure, the basic beginners kits tend to say you can, but I don't know about the longevity of such items.

They wont last so long and as they are water based i'm not sure what they would float on - you would need a liquid denser than water.
