galvanised herbs container

Post: # 228635Post scrap »

Sacrificed a couple of coffee-breaks to cut and fold some leftovers from work.
Galvanised sheet metal, and padded with some scraps of thermal insulation.
...Hopefully this will help more of my herbs trough the next winter.
I intend to plant it next weekend with some less-hardy stuff like sage and thyme,
and perhaps top it off with some sedums.

The insulation,and the drainage gutter.
Plenty of shards around to fill the bottom...a couple of my terracotta's froze to bits this winter. :(

Thanks,Zoe.
This is not all that hard to make,I'm just lucky to have access to awesome professional tools and machines at my job.
Time is another issue though...that's why I try to keep things simple and straight-forward.

...And planted.
Sage,Thyme, some rather puny Lemon-thyme,Rosemary and Oregano.
Hardly visible among them are small tufts of Sedum acre that I found growing somewhere down the street.
My herb lexicon listed it as edible too,and it's supposed to be great in a potato-salad.
May give that a go...anyone tried it?

Looks really good - and frost hardy! I've lost loads of terracotta pots to frost damage. It seems every time I move one of my bigger pots, it crumbles into bits - and not just the cheapo ones. :(

I put all mine away in the garage or barn over winter!

Love the planting Scrap but I've never tried eating any kind of sedum.

So smart, much better than any I've seen for sale...maybe you should go into business?
