Odd Sock Ghibli toys

Post: # 231719Post chickenchargrill »

I had some odd socks and didn't like to just throw them. So I made these yesterday instead.

Tortoro and Gigi (or Jiji)

Only problem is I now have to buy socks especially to make more for a couple of people. And someone wants me to do a YouTube vid  I could pretend to be a Blue Peter presenter. I think I'll compromise and just do an entry on my blog with instructions.

Took less than 20 minutes to make both of them.

I like those, I have a bag of old socks somewhere that I kept for such enterprises, I just never got round to it. 20 minutes too, wow. Everything takes me hours!

I think the main problem I would have is the poxy dog would like them too :banghead:

They are super easy, the only sewing is the base, where you've cut for the ears, and tail (if you want a tail)

Everything else was just cut out and fabric glue. My friend makes sock monkeys to sell, but they're all sewn and take quite a bit longer.

Our dog, fortunately, ignores such things.

I love them.

Like Keaniebean, I have hounds that eat strange things...so I have loads of odd socks. Now I can solve both problems!

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Absolutely brilliant animations. We tend to have on Ghibli films rather than Disney here. Spirited Away, My Neighbour Tortoro, oh, Howl's Moving Castle, are our favourites.
