Never even heard of it before - sounds nice, though, from the recipes I've found...

It was mentioned in a song I heard, Haul Away Joe, and couldn't help wondering about it

I saw several different recipes claiming the name - some suet based, some butter; some containing dried fruit other's with no fruit. The only think they had in common was they were all steamed puddings.

The most common version seemed to be plum duff - isn't that Christmas Pudding? If it is (in answer to your question) yes I have and it's delicious. But I'm guessing you've had it too.
