I don't usually make them, but I did decide, having tried it, to swear in capital letters on Facebook much more often - and I said so on there too. You should have seen the language that followed in the comments. Terrible it was.

I don't usually bother, but I have one this year:

Learn Welsh.

I'm not expecting to complete this task within the year

eat healthier and reduce the amount of food products i buy in packets, as these tend to be unhealthy things plus the packaging is bad for the enviroment.

this will be much easier to do once we finally gat back home to macedonia in 4 weeks time!!!! and start producing as much food ourselves as possible.

oooohhh im so excited!!!!!!!!! this will be us giving up the day job and diving in the deep end at being selfsufficient-ish!!

Ok, here's mine.
1. To be more positive and self motivated.
2. To lose some weight, exercise more and get more energised.
3. De-clutter my house and live a simpler existance.
4. Have fun.

Happy New Year everyone.
Has anyone seen the plot, I seem to have lost mine?

1. Take the camera out to more places using free bus pass and to carry my own food more often.
2. To be a lot more frugal. Other than buying compost for the allotment, to only buy the necessary food.

 No cash so free will be good.

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

mine is normally never to make a resolution, but this year I changed my mind.

I hope to be at least a size 16 by this time next year. A 14 would be even better bu I think is unattainable in a year 'cos, let's face it, I have lived with myself for 29 years now and I know my will power is non existant!!!

I'm going to continue spending less at supermarkets on food. we're doing well with our mid-year-resolution of "eat all you buy", I want to continue it.

We wont be buying anything new with regards to clothing or electronics UNLESS it is VERY heavily discounted. so all new clothes will be second hand or on at least 40% off sale.*

All electronics will be second hand (our second hand, 20 year old dryer has served us well but I think it's nearing death... not bad for a total cost of £27. we've had 4 years of heavy use out of it).

the only things we will buy new are sewing machine needles and thread (all fabrics must be second hand), essential car parts, school uniform, underwear and sophie shoes. me and jim shouldn't really need new shoes again until this time next year 'cos we both have some (yeah, says the shoe addict with no resolve!).

*I'm putting this disclaimer bit because there's an H+M order I just made for myself, but the dress I wanted is now half price and is now about £12, I have a £5 off code, AND a 25% off your whole order code, so for £11.50 I got the dress, a vest top tunic AND paid postage... the dress is to replace a similar item I owned for 10 years that finally gave up its fight for life too, and the vest top is because I always wear vest tops under jumpers but am down to two of the buggers.

finally I want to change the things I can, accept the things I can and grow the wisdom to know the difference lol.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very
ve-he-he-he-heryyyyyyy soooooooooooon!!!!

I'm not bothering with resolutions this year cos they never, ever manage to last beyond February. But there are many, many things I should try to change during the year including but not limited to-
Eat less rubbish
Do more exercise
Do more arts and crafts, starting with completing my many unfinished items
Earn some money from my crafting, even if it's only £5 for the entire year
Grow more herbs and veggies, if I take a packed lunch to work I can eat it in the afternoon and spend my lunch time on the veg patch instead
Start working on xmas presents in August so that I'm not still frantically making come new year :banghead:

And no doubt one or two other things I can't remember at this hour. If I manage to do just one of those things it would be great.

I am going to try really hard this year with my repreted resolution to give up Radishes.

On Al's advice I contacted my Doctor to see if this was a safe thing to do, and luckily it is.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

They do say that the New Year is the wrong time to make resolutions as we are still wearing off the seasonal comforts of the holidays and that the winter weather is a discouragement. We are supposed to be better to make them later in the year.

But Mrs Fibble has had a good think about what she would like to do and has sort of road mapped some of the year. Now there's a chance that some of the things she has thought about will happen because they aren't resolutions but sensible planning. Lost-in-the-day has rather done the same in planning to try and achieve certain things that she feels she should try to do. I reckon that there is some chance of things happening there too.

They have both set me thinking that it's not resolutions I need but planning to change things slowly.
