It's just gone 7pm and still 28 degrees here...and being 7 months pregnant is making it feel like about 280 degrees!! I've been sitting with my feet in a bucket of cold water, very effective :flower: This time last week it was 38 though, I'm happy it's not that hot again!

Are you in Sydney too? It would help to enter your location in your profile.

Well, everything has lived through the heat, the breeze is starting to cool off so the change is not far away. I wish we could say the same for the people in Victoria, many homes destroyed and 66 lives lost. Please remember the families in your prayers if you are that way inclined.

Thinking of them - I cannot imagine being unable to get out of the way of an outdoor fire - awful! :(

Having been to Oz, i can imagine the situation there. Having been in a fire, i know how frightening it is. My thoughts are with everyone.
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.

Thanks everyone.

The death toll is now over 100 and expected to climb further as they pick through the rubble.

I hadn't realised how close to Melbourne it has come - Nev - if you have a website over there to give a message of support - can you post it please?

It sure is scary, they just said on the news over 100 people have died...so sad, I burst into tears watching the telly...sending love & strength to everyone over there.

The heat seems to have finally broken over here (gisborne nz), and now it's raining which is a great improvement. Thanks for pointing out my location wasn't on my profile, I'd never noticed! Whoops!

Kathleen I do have a big sticky posting at the top of this section asking everyone to fill in their locations! It just makes it so much easier when we are so spread out around the world, especially when we're talking about temperatures or growing veg.
