equal exchange organic fairtrade loose leaf assam tea (from Suma). one of the few orthodox teas ready available in the UK, orthodox means a rolled leaf rather the standard machine process (CTC) tea in the Uk. takes longer to brew but the flavour is excellent.

Also - I've seen the real penny-savers on some budgeting programmes re-use teabags - is that really possible (tried it but needed about 3 and still no flavour!).

I've never seen anything about re-using teabags, but when I've made a cup of jasmine tea with the infuser, I always leave the infuser (with the jasmine tea leaves still inside) out so I can use them again. If anything, the second and third cup are better than the first!!

In other news, I made a cup of carrot top and lemon verbena tea for me, my dad and my girlfriend last night. They didn't finish theirs, but I enjoyed mine! They both said it got better the more they drank, probably because I left a lemon verbena leaf in the cup (I removed the carrot tops), so it tasted more lemony the more we drank! When I finished the first cup, I topped it up again with boiling water, so the second cup only tasted a little bit like carrot top, and more like lemon verbena.

The carrot top tea tasted a little bit like nettle tea....

You saying that you have never seen anything regarding reusing teabags, reminds me of a Morecombe and Wise sketch. One dunk or two?

Yorkshire Tea or Clipper Tea for me. Tea tastes best with either a large chunk of fruit cake or baked beans on toast x

I've got myself a glass teapot with a stainless steel strainer, off Amazon - and now i buy my loose tea from eBay... Rutland Tea Company or whoever including Keemun, Yunnan, oolong, Nepal spice... many varieties.

Humph. Out here we rely mostly on imported PG Tips. Which is OK.

Most French people have, I am afraid to say, only the haziest idea about how to make tea, which is usually made with hot water from the tap. If served with milk it is UHT. Hideous.

On the other hand, the coffee we can obtain easily from shops here is an order of magnitude better than that available in the UK and I have never seen anywhere selling a skinny latté or any of that nonsense.
