I have now become a Pagan Chaplain at Aston University, very exciting, may get quite busy over freshers week though.

wow, well done sleepy owl, but i have to confess i am somewhat confused ( although it doesn't take much  ). 'Chaplain' has Cof E associations and pagan is very un Cof E. I would love to know some more, having been raised Roman Catholic and now practising Hedgewitch.

Well done mate. It's good to see an open minded Uni, do you know if there are many pagan chaplins across the country. I imagine you must be something of a trail blazer.

Congrats SleepOwl! :hugish:

I did an unofficial stint doing caplancy work for a prisoner a few years ago as my late father was a prison officer & felt that Pagans deserved equall treatment.

'Caplain' is simply a term given to a spiritual advisor of what ever faith, as I understand it.

Well done! Pardon my igorance - but how does it work? Do you perform the same sort of ceremonies as a regular chaplain? Can you do things like weddings? Are they legally binding?
Good luck with Freshers Week!

In Scotland, a pagan wedding is legally binding as long as you've done all your paperwork. IIRC, it's a bit harder in England - you sort of have to have the registry bit, and then the 'pagan bit' (and therefore pay twice) whereas up here, the pagan celebrant can do both jobs. I think.

Congratulations, Sleepyowl. I am sure you will bring comfort, joy and peace to many. Brightest blessings.

Whitewolf, in answer to your question, I too am an Ishy-Witch. Of the solitary 'can't be arsed with the cynical, cashing-in with 'fashionable because I watched 'Charmed' merchandise' persuasion.
