Today I am glad that I am a isher

Post: # 215319Post thesunflowergal »

Its been a horrible day here for several reasons, the main one being that Kai was made redundant. He has only been in his new job for six weeks and the owners have decided to shut the restaurant. He has only been back at work for 13 months after he was last made redundant. We are lucky that they are going to pay him for this month, but nothing further.
I am glad to be an isher today, as I have learn' t so much from everyone and I am confident that they are skills which will be put to even greater use now.
:grouphug: everyone.

My heart goes out to both of you. :grouphug:
You have the right attitude. To be more self sufficient will help you tremendously. Trust me I know as my husband has simply not had a proper job since 2008...

:grouphug: hugs for you and your family. We went through something similar back in the 90s during the recessions. OH was made redundant from a good job when the company went bust. He found something fairly quick, but when that had to downsize he was the last in so first out. Same with the next job he got. In the end, he decided to become a postman, his thinking being that if he's being the jinx on these companies, then at least he can't do the same to Royal Mail. Since then, it's all been redundancies, stopping over-time pay, opening up of competition, etc. So you see, my OH can even make a humungus national company struggle.

Something will turn up for you both. Remember, light travels in straight lines, so while it may seem all dark and depressing right now, when you get around the next corner there'll be a lovely bright future for you.
Rosey xx

Sorry, last night I was being a bit frazzled so couldn't think of anything to write other than send you hugs but in the cold light of morning it suddenly occurred to me that the thread that Mrs H started might be of some use.

When he gets over the shock of being made redundant for the second time, sit him down and sort out things he can do to bring in some income until he gets a new job - it may be the start of something fantastic. Even if it's not it'll stop him getting down if nothing comes along immediately.

And some more hugs for good measure :hugish: :hugish: :hugish:

I'm really sorry to hear that. I do hope he finds something else soon. Just line up loads of jobs that you want done around the house so that he doesn't get bored. :hugish:
