So nearly three months late,just 4 days to go.A couple of days in Cornwall to say good bye to what's left of my family,and then caio to the UK.The whole thing has been like having a collective breakdown,moving,especially with 3 sprogs,and clearing up a holding like this,has without doubt been the most stressful thing I've ever done,(divorce ,bereavement,genuinely don't come close).My own fault really,through illness and sloth,I've done buggerall to the house for 4 or 5 years,so the last few months have been a whirl of carpentry,decorating,tiling etc, and they're all a poor substitute for farming.
So the goats have gone on their winter holiday(dont fancy dragging them round looking at properties,hope to be reunited in May) the fat Patterdale has her passport(amazingly they leave a space on them for an 'optional' photograph! we've used one of her wearing a set of Christmas 'doodle clackers'!) and it's very nearly time to go.
We're staying for at least a few months at a family place in the hills of Emiglia Romagnia before going South,and as the place has no phone and lousy mobile signal,this is the end of my drivelling on for the foreseeable future...who said nothing good ever happens on Tuesday mornings!!
You've all educated,entertained,amused(and only occasionally really wound me up!)I expect if you reverse the order that would more accurately reflect the effect I have on most people .
So with that trademark note of self importance and pomposity,I ll wish ALL health,Happiness,and success.
