We were saying the very same thing and whats more its feeling very much like autumn here although forecast is for it to warm up somewhat again.

Last evening we even lit the fire for a few hours!

Drove through Thetford Forest last week and the trees were all turning colour.

Although off to the vindage (grape picking) in 2 weeks, which is 2 weeks earlier than usual.

I really love the autumnal feel in the air now...I have the urge to get my black polo neck out of the wardrobe and start cooking pulses. My total favorite time of year!

Just the same down here too, I've really felt a change in seasons!

I love autumn as well though so I don't mind. The only month I have real trouble with is Feb and I suppose it's quite short so I won't get narky just yet ;-).

Driving to work a month ago, I thought I'd driven through a time-warp. It looked like late autumn. There were piles of golden leaves all over the road.

I'm sure the medlars and quinces are ready although I can't bear to pick them yet. The cat's on my lap, sure sign it's cold. She smells of smoke, someone must have a fire going.

 Jessie!

Hot weather forecast here for next 3 days so we are off to the beach! It's looked autumnal here on and off all summer but that was due to dry periods, and having had some good wet periods during August the trees are so screwed up they don't know if they are coming or going, as I even have new growth on some shrubs that normally only grow in spring, and..... wait for it......

There's an elderberry FLOWERING up the road.

Well it's been autumn up here for a couple of weeks - problem is, due to the general lack of sunshine this year, I have tons of green tomatoes - not a single one has ripened!

It's nice though, you can start putting all your failures behind you and start planning for the Successes of 2012! Oh and fires in the evening.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.
