Mad cat capers

Post: # 249661Post Thomzo »

Now I've been sewing for nearly 40 years (not continuously I must add, I have done other things, such as work, during that time). I've always been aware that pins and needles can be dangerous, especially to cats. So I'm always careful to put them away when I'm not using them. Well I wasn't careful enough last night.

I was sewing some Christmas decorations last night. Before I went to bed, I put the needle into a pin cushion along with some pins and another needle. I took the thread out of the needle just to be on the safe side and I put the whole thing in the middle of the dining table, well away from inquisitive paws.

A little geography lesson needed here, my dining room is separated from my kitchen by the living room and the hallway.

So today I got home from work and found a pin on the kitchen floor, then another, then another, then it dawned. Rushing into the dining room, no pin cushion. Where was it? I eventually found it inside one of my trainers! :dontknow:

Now it's in a drawer.

P.s. it's tipping it down outside. Why I have I got the only three cats in the world who like getting wet and then jumping on my lap? YUK

But that's the joy of cats! Put our Christmas tree up today and the cat is already eyeing it up. She decided it was a good place to sleep last year - largest Christmas decoration ever

Another reason for checking your shoes before you put them on, in case of red backed spiders or..... pincushions! Were there any pins left in it?

 Decided against a tree again this year. As soon as I brought the Christmas decorations downstairs both mad cats were pulling the tinsel out of the case and chasing the baubles around the kitchen.

Had to rescue a roll of masking tape today before it went under the cooker.

Still, they make great hot water bottles.

Surprisingly there were a few! I spent a good hour crawling around on my hands and knees looking for pins on the floor after that.
