Satisfaction.
Why do I enjoy making Sunday lunch more when I have grown my own veg?
I have not had a very productive time this year.
Can't seem to get motivatated. Got lots of baby veg on the back year waiting to be planted out next week.
Bought veg from local coop today to make dinner but don't get the same satisfaction or enjoyment from cooking it. Also hate the waste packaging .
Anyway if I get sowing and planting next week I will have veg coming out of my ears in the autumn.
Also my parsnips have germinated this year. My fav roast veg. Patience is a virtue.
Home grown Christmas veg with satisfaction if I give myself a good push in the allotment direction now.
Happy Christmas .
How many days to go,,,,

Re: Satisfaction.
I know exactly what you mean. I have been picking herbs and lettuce for a while now, but the other day a simple lunch gave me that sense of satisfaction. We had frittata with herbs, (parsley, chervil, thyme and rosemary) wet garlic, weedy onions, cheddar given to us by a friend (not easy to get out here) and our own eggs, with salad leaves, land cress, a tomato from the morning's market and home made herb bread. With thick local yoghurt with fresh mint and garlic. Yum.
Just the start

Definitely. Home grown is best.
Off to plant those seedlings in the morning.

Oh yes. The satisfied feeling just never goes away. Successful seed saving also has the same effect on me. I will protect my seeding plants just like I protect my own young.

Today's big thing....the first peas and courgette of the season, super yummy, with spinach, herbs and garlic also from the garden, linguini, home made walnut and herb bread....walnuts from the garden.
Fantastic.

Re: Satisfaction.
Totally. What we find really satisfying is making a salad which has just been picked from allotment produce. Tasty and satisfying
