Possibly a bit uncomfortable, unless you get a supersize one?doofaloofa wrote:Sleep in it?
But definitely an idea. Should I ever need a new bed, I might consider that.

No, don't worry!doofaloofa wrote:Are you chatting me up?
And anyway, if you really wanted the experience of sleeping in a coffin, there'll be easier ways of getting that...
Actually, I wasn't even sure whether you were male or female...

I've seen purple wheelbarrows, but never a purple shovel!diggernotdreamer wrote:If you want to love a purple shovel, then that is your right

Re: Why are cardboard coffins so expensive?
is it also cheaper to dig your own grave?
(with a purple shovel?)
I guess you'd have to go back every so often to redig it as it would cave in over time.
You'd have to be fairly sure of how long left youd got, and still be able to dig the grave though, and it doesn't take account of accidental deaths - run over by a bus, while crossing the road outside the cemetary on the way to digging your own grave.
(I think Doofa is a bloke, as his profile says 'proud father'... purple shovel probably his wifes)

Global average carbon emissions - one ton per person per year.
Current emissions in UK – 9 tons per person per year!

Are there purple coffins?
I've only got one condition for my burial - I want to be buried with a pear in my pocket. There's a German poem about that. Bloke always used to give kids fruit of his pear tree, and when he died, he knew his son was a miser and wouldn't continue that tradition, so he made sure a pear tree would grow on his grave... Although, apples would probably grow better in Scotland. Maybe a Bloody Ploughman? That would give the kids a laugh, too...
