I won't put away my thermals just yet then.

Edited to add:

Actually I haven't put them away since 2014. Last year was so cold (apart from a couple of weeks in April and again in October) that my long sleeved t-shirts stayed out and my summer clothes never saw the light of day.

It's all good - long sleeves suit my chubby arms.

Now that the greenhouse is up in the garden can we have spring please? Family got the job finished yesterday and this morning there's a frost!

It's not a big greenhouse but will take five tomato plants and lots of pepppers!

I keep an eye on the long range weather forecast and it's not looking too bad for the next couple of weeks. Not guaranteed but a bit of a blocking high is going to affect at least the southern half of the country.
Whether it will be warmer or not I don't know, I'm just looking for drier weather so that I can get my potato patch dug and planted.
But then, I remember someone mentioning arctic snowy weather for Easter

Don't forget a cucumber!

The good thing, of course, is there won't be a frost inside your greenhouse, but we often use covered propagators in the polytunnel to give a little extra shelter at this time of year - plus we start most things off indoors on windowsills.

My Mother reckoned you get a huge crop the first year of a new greenhouse. She was right - the best crop of tomatoes we've ever had was in our new greenhouse. I'd put it down to enthusiasm but we were only replacing an old one so I don't know how to explain it. Anyway enjoy your first crop.

Blame the Met Office not me. They're the ones predicting a white Easter. We had a little foretaste of it yesterday. All gone today and glorious sunshine.

And I'm stuck inside painting. :(

Well having done the required pruning at the front of the house I dug out the sickly polyanthuses (or is that polyanthi?), split, potted on the good bits and put them on the staging in the greenhouse to get themselves going again. This morning when I put the wheelie bin out for the dustmen the weather was not co-operating - could have been snowflakes even. Come on spring.

There's no snow here so the white Easter may be off but it's freezing! OK, maybe not freezing just very, very cold. Boiler lit, early, for the first time in days.

I've caught up with outside as far as I can but the forecast for the next few days is wet, cold, windy - probably a good thing as I need an excuse to sit down and let the knees recover! Perhaps it's just this week?

Well we've got our usual bizarre weather up here. We woke up to the thickest frost of the winter, this morning, and glorious sunshine.

I don't think I'll put my onion sets out just yet.

We had a grass frost this morning too, although the actual temperature was about +4.
Not worried about my tomatoes, I'll do a post later explaining why.

But ..... we have a very wet weekend forecast, continuous heavy rain from midnight tonight (Fri) until the early hours of Sunday.

we have had hail here again today, and apparently, it was snowing hard about 15 miles up the road, the evenings are freezing and the amount of rain we get on a daily basis means it is impossible for me to start barrowing my compost into the vegetable garden.

Whaaaa?! Where's my snow? There's been no snow in York at all this year... :(

(I know it's a massive faff and everyone hates it. It just triggers an enormous emotional response of glee and celebration in me... :dontknow: )
