Windows Media Player

I tried to bring up WMP from the Start menu (first time in a few weeks) and there was a flash of something as if it was about to open, then nothing. Has this happened to anyone else and what can I do to get it to work again?

Have you tried switching it off and on again, it works every time on the IT Crowd

Have you ever connected another screen, that is had a 2 screen extended desktop, and displayed Media Player on the second?
If you've done that and now disconnected the 2nd screen, Windows will still display it on the 2nd one even though it's not there.
