German supermarkets in Ireland

It's amazing how little market research they do, Lidl especially.
A few years ago they were selling bare rooted fruit trees in late April, probably fine for Germany, but in Ireland all the fruit trees had bloomed and were carrying small fruitlets by then.

This week is a classic though, Lidl are selling solar powered mole repellents, which is fine except there are no moles anywhere in Ireland, never has been (like snakes).
I wonder how many gullible people will buy one though.

Obviously they work exceptionally well

They are capable of learning, though.... Here in Scotland they used to sell (or try to!) humidifiers. They don't any more. And kids' trailers for bikes were a one-off, too - just too dangerous on these roads.

I hope they learn they other way too, ina.
They recently did a vegan range and my daughter was so enamoured she virtually cleaned out one store and wrote to them to ask if it could become a permanent range, not just a one-off.
She got a very nice response, saying they'd had loads of similar requests and were considering it.

They introduced decaf (real) coffee, too... Not sure whether it was just because of my repeated requests - but they did, anyway! And they started selling rye bread again after they stopped it for a while.

I remember thinking that them selling skiing gear here in Ireland was daft...but that was before we had a long and bitter winter with a lot of snow and ice. Now I want to buy a skiing jacket to keep me warm enough for next year!
If I can get one now, and wear it until next winter, I should have stored plenty of warmth to manage without my heating on.
