Electric scooters

Cycling, trains, walking. This is the place to talk about how good or bad cycle routes are, mention great train journeys, talk about car sharing schemes or husky travel. Anything in fact that is about transport that is a little alternative.

Electric scooters

Does anyone have any experience of electric scooters/motorbikes that they could share? (NOT disability varieties!)

For around-town type journeys...

when i worked I had a Sweam. not very fast (top speed potential of 6mph) but it really made my commute easier. it didnt like hills. and the motor wore out within a year (think i was a bit heavy for it lol!)

I still have it, but not sure if it still works!

I have an electric bike which I use (with a trailer) to take my 4 yr old to school when I can.
The battery takes about 4/5 hrs to fully charge and it goes on average for about 15 miles.

I've not experienced a scooter but I love the bike!

yamaha used to make one which was equivalent to a 50cc moped (up to 40mph), so would be good around town. But sorry I don't know anyone who owns one.
