How about the Peugeot 405 diesel estate. I just sold mine with 235,000 miles and going strong. When I hit a coach last year I straightened out the front with a lump of wood and a claw hammer
I ran it on home made biodiesel for over 20,000 miles with no problems as long as the fuel filter was changed regularly, and in warmer weather I used to sometimes add T***o veg oil as well. And yes, I paid the tax
It could carry 5 people, or loads of cargo, and cover over 600 miles on a full tank, averaging 45mpg. I think you'll have a job to beat a french diesel.
