Recommend me a greener car?

Cycling, trains, walking. This is the place to talk about how good or bad cycle routes are, mention great train journeys, talk about car sharing schemes or husky travel. Anything in fact that is about transport that is a little alternative.

How about the Peugeot 405 diesel estate. I just sold mine with 235,000 miles and going strong. When I hit a coach last year I straightened out the front with a lump of wood and a claw hammer  I ran it on home made biodiesel for over 20,000 miles with no problems as long as the fuel filter was changed regularly, and in warmer weather I used to sometimes add T***o veg oil as well. And yes, I paid the tax  It could carry 5 people, or loads of cargo, and cover over 600 miles on a full tank, averaging 45mpg. I think you'll have a job to beat a french diesel.
