I'm staggered that anyone would question drinking raw milk from tested animals, while regularly ingesting loads of approved crap(eg. Flourine).
I was brought up on 'green milk' and my children (up till 18 months ago) only drank unpastuerised goat milk.Sadly,it's become difficult to buy due to the restrictions placed upon it's (UK) sale, and now we have no animals, they drink hardly any milk at all,as they think the usual stuff's tasteless.Pity really.

I have to import raw cows milk - it's illegal to sell it in Scotland. Costs me a small fortune every month and worth every penny.

Fantastic stuff.

Whats wrong with Florine exactly? It is beneficial for your teeth, aiding repair and strengthening them.

Toothpaste is fluoridated as well and, according to Wikipedia, it's introduction in the '70s is the main reason for tooth decay in industrialised countries and seems to be the single common factor in countries where tooth decay has declined. Seems to me that fluoridating water is a little bit of overkill...

Fluoride is toxic and has been used as a pesticide and is potentially linked to a number of heath and environmental issues although I didn't find any info on required dosage for a negative effect. Google the Fluoride Action Network for arguments against fluoridation of water; I don't know how rigorous their science or referencing is so probably worth looking for info in favour of fluoridation as well.

Sodium fluoride has been used as a rat poison, though not much these days. It is still used as the fluoride source in some brands of toothpaste. The LD50 is around 50 mg/kg, so a 60kg human would be killed or at least made very seriously ill by about 3g. For comparison, 0.6g of sodium cyanide would give a similar effect. All fluorides and related compounds are toxic to mammals, though not in the small amounts found in toothpaste or in water treatment. Unless someone screws up à la Camelford

Not only is the adding of fluoride to our water state medication without permission, it's also a total waste of money. Costs quite a lot of money and considering most of our water is simply flushed down the drain, used for washing etc very little of it has any benefit. Fluoride in toothpaste is topically applied and toothpaste should be spat out anyway (especially the stuff full of SLS as most of it sadly is here) but water is drunk, there is no control on doseage. Very bad but not really the point of this thread.
