Chanterelles

Post: # 146229Post kit-e-kate »

Hi all, just thought i'd bring a bit of spring cheer to the thread with a lovely reminder of what the summer months can bring to all us mushroom hunters! I found these chanterelles last July, just outside Forfar. Can't wait to see what this summer brings!
Happy hunting all!

Its a deppressing time of year for mushroom hunters at the moment. That picture brings back memories of the last two summers which have been fantastic for chanterelles. It will soon be time to start again, the St Georges will be here soon. Last year I found the first ones very early; on March 17th, so with this mild weather it might be worth keeping an eye out.
