I am willing to buy the nylon thread/fishing string, but want to use recycled materials for the rest.
Has anybody made one before or have any ideas?
Thanks~

I guess I should keep my eyes open for 'things'. How would I get holes in china for the string?
Thanks so much~

Sea shells, bits of bamboo, old film pots, dryed gourdes, cotton reels, buttons would all make interesting noises. There must be more things that you could use that are free. Good Luck & please post photos.

Use a small masonry drill and preferably a hand drill. Put a piece of tape over where you want to drill to prevent it slipping. The second one is easy.

Well then, I won't hang it where you can hear it!
I have a neighbor who hates the sound but not because it hurts his ears; he just hates wind chime...I usually hang them in my windows inside the house...I have just a few small, boughten ones. Thanks, Carltonian Man
