They do say that the New Year is the wrong time to make resolutions as we are still wearing off the seasonal comforts of the holidays and that the winter weather is a discouragement. We are supposed to be better to make them later in the year.
But Mrs Fibble has had a good think about what she would like to do and has sort of road mapped some of the year. Now there's a chance that some of the things she has thought about will happen because they aren't resolutions but sensible planning. Lost-in-the-day has rather done the same in planning to try and achieve certain things that she feels she should try to do. I reckon that there is some chance of things happening there too.
They have both set me thinking that it's not resolutions I need but planning to change things slowly.
New Years Resolutions anyone??

Re: New Years Resolutions anyone??
Not really resolutions but definitely a case of out with the old, in with the new.
Out -
1) Green Aura (the business) is no more. The regulations are getting so tight that for such a small business as mine it's nigh on impossible to be compliant. I still can't understand why I have to inform the Home Office of my intention to make and sell soap!
2) Our daughter! Gone to live with her new partner. A huge relief for all - she never really settled up here - and we're now starting to get on really well again.
3) I've stood down from my involvement with local development. I helped out when they needed me but fortunately had the good sense to realise when that need was done. Another huge relief.

1) Welcome Northern DeLights. I've decided that the bakery I was going to start with my daughter isn't a lost cause. I've done the training, invested in the equipment and I now have a redundant workshop which will require only a little alteration so I'm going to carry on by myself. I'll start off small, just for pre-ordered goods, probably only firing up the oven once a week at first.
2) I feel like I'm getting a year off! Well not really. The last couple of years I've not managed to put the required time or effort into Green Aura because of the other distractions/demands on me. So now they've gone I'm taking time out to build up sufficient stock in my other new(old) venture - in the last year I sold more of my knitted and crocheted items than cosmetics so I'm going to pursue that for a while.
3) I've got to get the house we bought for our gal finished and either rented out or sold off and get my new kitchens (domestic and bakery) installed too. Who knows I may even find time/space to get that loom out and learn how to use it!
4) My Bl**dy polytunnel will produce some decent tomatoes this year!!!!! Hopefully I'll have more time for all the rest of the gardening too.
I know 2012 will be a difficult year for all sorts of reasons and for many people but at the moment I'm feeling quite hopeful.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Re: New Years Resolutions anyone??
To de clutter the house & put things we don't need/use on freecycle or send it to the charity shop if no one wants it on there, have already got a set of kitchen scales, heavy bottomed pan, sandwich toaster, jacket potato dishes & a colander.
Unfortunately when cleaning out the food cupboard there was a lot of out of date manky stuff in there so do have a lot of rubbish neatly tied up in bags (from other places as well as the food cupboard)

I am admiring your resolution. Welsh is haaaaaard... ;-). Mine are to learn Latin properly and not strangle anyone (I mean people on real life, no-one needs strangling on this board).Zech wrote:I don't usually bother, but I have one this year:
Learn Welsh.
I'm not expecting to complete this task within the year

Now your resolution has 'properly' in it - I never said anything about properly!
