what are your top five films?
mmm...tough one this, but I'll try to nail it down to just 5
1. Sliding doors - keeps you on your toes, you have to follow the plot!
2. Sleeping With The Enemy - Good tense thriller
3. Went The Day Well - probably my fav ww2 film
4. Alfie - Michael caine's original version
5. All Kenneth Branagh's Shakespeare films - he is IMO the best at doing Shakespeare
Then of course I would like to have added Jaques Tati, especially Jour de Fete, the new James Bond because it is so full of action and the really girlie films like Brigit Jones's diary, Notting Hill, Four Weddings - all the stuff I watch when hubby isn't around...
Oh and of course I'm a big fan of the Back to the Future films too...especially 1 & 2
Nope...its impossible to get a list like this down to just 5...

My favorite 5 films:
The Day the Earth Caught Fire (and you thought todays climate change was bad)
Aliens (Thats it, game over man, game over)
Pat Garret and Billy the Kid (The real wild west, warts and all)
Brotherhood of the Wolf (Period murder mystery meets Kung Fu)
A Matter of Life and Death (You always knew that David Niven would get the girl)
Now have I ticked all the boxes ? Post-apocolypse, check, Sci-Fi, check, Western (Peckingpah), check, Costume drama, check, Romantic comedy/fanasty, check.

I'm sure I'd have a different list on any given day but here are five:
1. Some Like It Hot
2. What's Up Doc
3. Pump Up the Volume
4. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
5. Back to the Future (but only the first one, 'cos I have nearly the whole sticker book for that filled in :) )

Henry and June
Addams family & Values
Leon
Pulp Fiction (maybe)
Preaching to the Perverted
But this is only 5 films that I would watch again and again. Other films that I would watch again and again, but maybe are a bit easier to ignore are
Practical Magic
The Craft
Sleepy Hollow
Ginger Snaps
Moulin Rouge
Oh!!! A few Good Men!
Nah. Too Hard. We like our films.
I didn't read the LOTR books, and enjoyed the films.
We like Star Wars in our house, liked the Family Guy Blue Harvest. But where was the Stormtrooper banging his head???
