Cucumber tendrils

Post: # 103362Post adekun »

The first lot of cucumber plants I transplanted have had a rough time. Things are a bit better now and they are slowing turning from yellow to green. Recently I bought a couple of a different variety as a backup. The first lot are still without tendrils. Perhaps I'm being impatient, but something seems amiss. :?

How big are they? i.e. how many leaves, are they trailing yet? I can't think when cucumbers start putting out tendrils but I suppose it won't be until they are long enough to need it.

I think MMM the last point may be the answer. It's just they are already growing cucumbers - although still tiny. Perhaps it's a bit like the tomatoes; leggy and half dead but keen on producing fruit. Still have a few weeks to get replacements so I should wait and see.

Well you'll just have to tie them into their support then Adekun! I always do anyway to be on the safe side because cucumbers (the fruit) are rather heavy.
