Climbing back on the ish wagon.

Post: # 117999Post Sarahcook »

Good evening, my name is Sarah and I fell off the -ish wagon about 8 months ago.
In that time I have bought plastic.
I have lazily put stuff in the kitchen bin and not the compost.
I have thrown away plastic bags.
I have bought non fairtrade because it was cheaper.
I have used washing powder.

Oh the shame.

It began when a particularly bad flare of the evil arthritis began. And then wouldn't pigging stop! I lost the will to do anything extra. Although through a lack of movement I have provided a superb wildlife garden, and a home for spiders which almost requires them to have a parliament, there are so many!

Anyway, I have availed myself of the Self Sufficient-ish Bible, put it in a cotton bag, and brought it home to read by daylight. The child is very excited by the idea of making the things in the book, especially a pot in pot fridge. He plans to put an ice cube in there and see how long it takes to melt. He's 5. Melting is groovy when you're 5. (and 33!)

Anyway, I've rambled on enough. I'm off to look for info on bokashi bins.

It's nice to be back.

Sarah

Welcome back Sarah  Hope you are feeling better.

We all go a bit wobbly every now and then, that is the beauty of 'ish - welcome back :flower:

I am also on the lookout for some big terracotta pots for a pot in pot cooler

Glad to have you back aboard Sarah! We totally know what it's like - evil Arthur visits Chris too so we know how hard it can be to even the simplest things. In a strange way it's quite calming to find out that Chris isn't the only one who has been in a constant state of flare recently - could it be the strange weather? BTW - have you tried devils claw - Chris started on it recently and it seems to be having a postive effect.
I love the sound of the wild life garden and spider haven - think I might grow them myself!
Hope you are feeling much better very soon - and don't forget where we are - post lots!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

The Ish wagon goes slowly enough - so you can always climb back on when you've dropped off... Been there, got back on.

Welcome back. :sunny:

Welcome back. I'd guess that most all of us fall into temptation's snare sometimes. But, here we are, sitting by the window, no lights on. Air conditioning is set at 80, the fans are going. Shopping bags are hanging on the legs of the tiny exercise trampoline by the door. Stevia plants grinning in their pots. Cold meals in the summer heat. Yoghurt maker out and ready for the next batch.

Oh, that it were easier to get back on the lifestyle-of-the-sleek-and-ish, instead of just lifestyle-of-the-ish....

Is that another thread, tho'?
