Thought I'd come out of lurkdom and say hi ! Love the website as it's been a mine of information!
I live in Northampton have 2 boys, 12 and 10 the youngest of which is autisic. Hubby works away so we only get to see him at weekends. I Work part time as a LSA at my youngests school, Im a 1 to 1 for an autistic 7 year old ( Im serverly dyslexic myself it helps

Have a tiny courtyard garden, but still atempt to grow veg in containers with a modicum of success - hard stuff cauilflowers/sweetcorn etc I seem have no problems with - the easy stuff such as lettuce and radishes I have no chance! though we had Tonnes of strawberries this year!
Have a small plastic green house in which I've been able to grow the odd pepper, toms and cumcumbers in Moved the chilli plant in doors and it doing great ( thanks to that chille thread)
Had to recently move a grape vine from it though as it was getting too musty/moulldy and I try to be organic
Im hoping to try to prolong growing season of runner beans and french beans ( ok so I plonked some seeds a big pot and have fingers crossed

had a bumper crop of runners last year from the containers but have had real problems from the birds eating the flowers this year!
Had an allotment a couple of years ago - but it was too much to keep it cleared ( all we ever seemed to do was weed) and son number 2 made it .. um ... 'interesting' for some of the older people there... ( though some loved him !!)
Consquently it became too much of a battle (physically and mentally) for it to be 'a fun thing to do as a family' so reluctanly we had to let it go. We gave it a good shot though and left a fab strawberry patch !
May be one day we'll try again.
I try to recycle as much as possible, have a home made wormery which is nearly full - emptying that'll be fun

.....and thats me
