manuring my allotment
i am thinking about manuring my allotment over the Christmas holidays a i was just wonder wether sheep manure which is only about 2months old will be ok or is it to fresh.

Re: manuring my allotment
we get a delivery of pretty fresh horse manure and straw mix at our lotty every couple of months or so. What most of us do is just pile it up into individual heaps or, what I do is to "mulch" any empty beds with the stuff. Basically I spread it all over the bed in question to a depth of a couple of inches then leave it till the srping. Then I scrape off the stuff on top that hasn't rotted and dig the rest in. Not that it takes much digging, as nature's done most of the work for me.
