What does your home smell of?

Post: # 138185Post Rosendula »

Inspired by Insence as a form of air freshener, I'm wondering what your house smells of.

Today my house has smelled of cooking peas, poo (potty training), and pancakes (felt a bit bleeuugh today, so that meant we had to have pancakes with honey and lemon on for lunch  ).

Yesterday it smelled of poo, bread and biscuits.

Tomorrow I'm planning to make the house smell of cooking fish :pukeright:

Yesterday ours smelt of fresh-baked bread, to-day 'twas home-brew beer, tomorrow might be parsnips & leeks (if the buggers aren't still frozen in the ground).
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.

Under-seasoned wood, bought some that has clearly only been seasoned one year (I prefer 2) though it does smell lovely :flower:

Cat pee... see other topic for details...... I think I got rid of most of it by using a mixture of vinegar, borax, lavender and eucalyptus.

Outside, I had washing out on the line today - it's not any dryer but it smells better than it did before

Today - chilli, also lemons and ginger (been bottling ginger beer)
Yesterday - baking bread, woodstain. OH is staining wood panels to take back to the UK, wood is really cheap here compared to there. I'm dreading reaching customs in our wagon train of two cars and a trailer complete with several 100 euros worth of wood panels and timber, basket with cat, rather a large number of gallons of wine and olive oil, etc, etc...
Tomorrow - with a bit of luck, alcohol when I bottle some of our home-made wine (also destined for the UK).
Growing old is much better then the alternative!

Right at this very moment .... kitchen smells of baking bread, tomato soup and frying onions.
Sitting room smells of burning peat.

My home also smelled like fresh baked bread. Monday is national bread making day hey?!

Today it smells like nag champa incense & fried onions. There was a slight undertone of poop but the baby's nappy has been changed!

My flat smells kind of musty at the moment so SOMETHING MUST BE DONE! My husband doesn't notice it though... I think it might be just because I'm pregnant and super sensitive to smells at the mo. :pale:

At the moment the high notes are of wet dog, with middle notes of tea tree oil (No.2 son has a rotten cold) and the base notes are of logs and peat in the range. However, No.1 son is just out of the shower and the place is now beginning to smell of a cheap bordello in the back streets of Shang Hai :pukeright:

Oh, tell me about it. I have 2 teenagers in the house and in a morning the whole upstairs smells of a mixture of both of their deodorants. :pukeright: I have to hold my breath as I cross the landing sometimes.

It smells of Doglet (who, for reference smells of sweet dog with a bit of caramelly honey in there too), a faint whiff of Lush (due to my massive stash...), fresh air where i came in not long ago, clean washing and some horrible air freshener somewhere - must find it and remove the batteries again...

I'm about to make it smell of Mulled Wine wax tarts.
