hello from a newbie in dorset
Just found the site and registered.
I live in rural dorset with about 1/2 acre to use to be as self sufficient as possible.
We have a couple of hens for eggs but thinking of growing chickens for eating.
also we grow all our veg and have just invested in a poly tunnel to grow more.
I make a lot of crafts, just about anything from Native american beadwork to making our own candles and soaps.
Have recently got into herbs etc and now making my own handcream and herbal remedies for simple things. e.g rubbing rosehips on joints is good for arthritis!!
I forage a lot and make all my own chutneys and jams etc, many from the hedgerows.
I also make the most of people who offer me their pheasants and other birds they can't use,or are to squeamish to, which once prepared make a tasty meal.
I am about to try making butter.
Basically we are open to anything that get us back to basics and living "the good life"
